KIMEE’S ELDERBERRY SYRUP

Easy to make and excellent for cold and flu season! Elderberries contain nutrients and antioxidants which can help boost our immune system, reduce inflammation, and protect our cells from damage while strengthening our bones, muscles, and nerves.
(Those with autoimmune disease should not take this.)

Plant-based


Ingredients

  • 4 c distilled water

  • 1 c dried organic elderberries

  • 1 lemon, sliced

  • 1 inch ginger root, peeled

  • 1 inch turmeric root, peeled

  • 3 cinnamon sticks

  • 1/8 t pink peppercorns

  • 1 c organic raw honey


Directions

Combine all but the honey in a large pot and bring to a boil. Simmer on low for 45 minutes until the liquid is reduced by half.

Strain through a fine sieve and let cool for at least 30 minutes then stir in honey.

Store in the fridge and use within 4 months. Adults can take a tablespoon or so per day. Kids can take a teaspoon.
